Thumbs up for this place !

Posted by G Gan on Feb 6, 2011

have stayed in a rented unit for 5 months (3BR - city and seaview facing). Location is excellent! Personally i like this place very much, convenient and design of unit is practical and contemporary. Very friendly neighbours staying here too :)

Hosted friends and relatives and most pple thumbs up for this place. Strongly recommended by many to purchase a unit here and i will seriously consider too. This place is in high demand by home owners and investors, everytime i view a unit, it gets snap up quickly ...

Good for Investment and Living

Posted by Bill on Apr 1, 2010

Excellent Location, one of the best condominiums to stay in for its convenience. You don't need a car as the MRT is just a few mins away.

Altho' it gets crowded along the streets outside, the place's location beats anything else. The pool is great, the gym is good and there are lots of good eating places just outside. The CitySQ mall is a big factor as well.

Rare Gem city living

Posted by Frankie Lee on Dec 18, 2009

Interesting looking at the threads of comments for this property.. all I can say is CitySq is indeed a rare gem for its location, surrounding amenities and quality development from reputable developer CDL.

Drive to Orchard is a breeze, with MRT another convenient mode of transportation if you dun feel like being behind wheels for a change. If one 24x7 mega mall is not good enough (Mustafa), how about having 2 with City Square Mall with its wide quality selection of tenants. Simply having all major fast food chains (KFC, MAC, BK, Long John Silvers) + 2 food courts is a indication of the quality retail mgmt, I bet CDL must have done its market research well judging from the increasing crowd of shoppers since its opening.

At 910 units, the property features a full olympic size 50M pool amongst other facilities. I viewed many condos before settling with this wonderful property, not just simply for the pool, but also the functional and well thought layout and fittings. Look around in the vincinity and you will realise the price of SGD 1100psf is truly reasonable and value for money as a freehold property. At least I am confident that the value for this property will continue to appreciate and certainly the entire belt in Kitchener / Racecourse is expected to have a facelift with a mega medical hostel under development.

Indians, foreign workers etc etc? Within City Square Mall and vincinity, they are hardly loitering around as far I can see. It really boils down to what you are looking for eventually. If city living is on your top priority, CitySq should be on your list for its location, amenities at value for money prices.. and freehold beside MRT... truly not many such rare gems available anymore.

If you are lucky, you may even find a unit with a city view overseeing the financial district night skyline, flyer and live fireworks display.....

Regretted Selling

Posted by Steve Chan on Dec 17, 2009

Owing to a short sighted view of my lawyer, I sold my beloved 570 sf 5th floor unit overlooking the park for a pittance 450k. Altho it made me some money, I felt it was a waste to let go of a freehold property in the fringe of town.

Anyway, present owners - if you got it at launch prices - here is reinforcement that you should keep it - they don't make freehold land in the city area any more.

Excellent Location... one of the BEST Condos

Posted by Fann Tan on Dec 16, 2009

I have been staying at City Square for the past 10 months, i must say this is one of the best condos in Singapore (in terms of location, price, amenities, MRT etc etc).
There are 2 huge shopping malls just beside the condo... what more can you ask for... moreover mustafa is 24 hrs and you can virtually get anything you want from the store.

A few times my family was ill in the middle of the nite, thanks to the 24hrs pharmacy at mustafa, we can conveniently get medication. NTUC is also located at City Sq Mall, so convenient! and at a cheap price... There is also wet market at Owen (8 mins drive down), near hospitals such as KKH and Tan Tock Seng. In the morning we can beat the erp cos it is only 3 mins drive to the nearest ERP gantry at bugis..haha!!

Concern about foreign workers... there are a few constructions nearby, that's why. If you go to other parts of Spore, i am sure there are also foreign workers lottering ard. Concern about Little India crowd?? after staying here for 10 months, i assure you that yes, they are out but only on Sundays and PH when they are off. Mon to Sat, you hardly see them around.

City Square Mall is absolutely Fantastic, with 2 foodcourts and major eatries, lucky for someone like me who dont cook. As far as i can see, there are many expats (Caucasians, Japanese, Koreans) in the condos.

Overall, i am so in love with this place that i am here to stay :)
Confident that the price here is appreciating, where else can u find a freehold property beside MRT, 2 shopping malls and so near to City?

Home sweet home

Posted by Gidget Higgins on Dec 8, 2009

Convenience, location & a great big pool for the kids.....what more can one ask.

Have to say, it's a melting pot of cultures here & it just adds to the flavour of this place....everyone is generally nice.

It's been home sweet home for my family & myself for the past 1 year and we're definitely here to stay.

Great location & potential

Posted by Jeremiah Lee on Dec 5, 2009

It's proximity to town being a city fringe property and having the convenience of a shopping mall & mrt literally next to it, makes it an excellent location.

Look beyond the old stigma, as some have mentioned, and you'll see a great potential for this freehold property. Well being far-sighted pays off. Things are changing and the area is being renewed & rejuvenated.

Think places like Bishan(cemetaries), Novena(SARS central) etc, which were once stigmatised & then look at now.

In addition, CDL has received awards for this property's building structural integrity.

Lastly, I've given 4 stars for property management because though they done a good job, I believe there's still room for improvement.

so convinient!!!

Posted by resident on Oct 26, 2009

City Square mall has been opened for three weeks. Life in city square residences became even more convenient. My hubbie and I meet at the City Square mall every day after work. Plenty of restaurants and food courts to choose... can also shop around after meal as leisure walk... so nice :)

It's great to have a mrt and a complex shopping mall just at your doorway...

Really look forward to the opening of the park just behind the condo...

Potential in City Square

Posted by Bui Thi Dung on May 19, 2009

After exploring City Sq area I like to give my views.

-The price of City Sq is relativity cheap compare to suite 123,suite mare, suite owen etc.

-The 910 units condo has full facilities with bowling alleys which no other condo have.Spacious drive way and parking lots. Not that crampy as residents use the facilities at different timing and certain facilities need booking.

-Near Kallang riverside with beaches and waterfront activity. The river itself will realise its full potential as a recreational hub.

-Living here is convenient with Farrer Park mrt,Lavender mrt and major expressway, getting anywhere from Changi Airport to the city,CBD and even further out to the west is effortless.

-It has many cosy eateries,shops/shopping mall and conservation monuments.

-It is in the vicinity of reputable educatioal institution.(SMU,School of arts,Stamfor Pri School,Hong Wen pri School etc)

-Upcoming hospital, medical cum hotel in the area.

-As for safety the policemen patrol the area on the weekends night which helps to crowd control.Foreign workers are harmless as they throng the area on weekends for relaxation and entertainment.Desker Road near the residential areas are well and brightly lit.Further more City Sq is few street fr Desker Road. Residents have no qualms about coming back late at night.

Rental at City Square

Posted by Debbie Tan on May 4, 2009

Referring to the previous reviewer, I can safely say that there is a long queue of people, mostly expatriates who are looking to rent a unit at City Square. This is understandable as the location is very central and it is close to many amenities and the popular district of Little India.

A Great Place To Live

Posted by Sng Yin Koon on May 3, 2009

Farrer Park mrt is packed in the peak morning, this applied to other stations unless board fr Pasir Ris,Joo Koon or Punngol mrt.Desker Rd is few streets fr City Sq Residences hence it is a safe place unless you patronize Desker Rd.Nowaday in a lot of estates you will see some foreign workers drinking and littering nearby. It`s a common sight. My opinion: commuting to city is convenient and in min thru mrt ,bus or drive.Mustafa shopping mall is 3 min walk and in few months a mega shopping mall be ready jus next door.Eateries is everyhwere and it`s offer a abundance of recreational facilities.IT IS A GREA PLACE TO LIVE.

Re: Wee Lee

Posted by John Smith on Apr 22, 2009

You said: Near MRT but you can never board it during morning peak hour because the train is too packed to squeeze.
I say: Same with all prime district properties. Jurong would be a better place if you want to be the first to board.
You said: It is not really very near to the mrt and you have to cross a very busy road.
I say: MRT is 150 meters only. There will be an underground passage from the station straight to City Square via the shopping mall. If this is still too far, you may want to live directly in a MRT station.
You said: The City Square Mall beside it may become the next mustafa..
full of foreign workers and the smell.. reminds me of golden mile complex.
I say: This is a racist comment. For information, not that it matters the area is regenerating big time with new art complex, private hospital, shopping mall, park... Resident at City Square are Chinese or expatriates. Mustafa is 24 hours shopping and best prices in town.
You said: How can I feel safe for my child in a area beside Little India and Desker Rd.
I say: Why are you even talking about it then? Obviously you are trying to talk down the condo in the hope of getting a property there at cheaper price.

RARE FIND - THUMPS UP FOR THIS CONDO

Posted by Breeze Lim on Apr 11, 2009

Forget about India nationals and Foreign workers, they are just everywhere from Jurong Point to Sengkang Mall or HDB ....forget about jam MRT, this is nothing new, from Boon Lay to Raffles Place, you may have to stand all the way....Let's see why City Square is a RARE FIND. We have been looking around from Kovan Residences, The City Lights and The Arte to even Caspian and give thumbs up to City Square :

1. Freehold property in a prime location
2. City Mall just beside it. Where else can you find a new development that just TOP with a mall adjacent to it. I mean within the prime location.
3. Eateries are just everywhere outside City Square.
4. MRT just a 2 mins walk with shelter all the way from City Mall to MRT. It is safe for children and eldery as they do not need to cross any busy road to access to MRT.
5. There will be a park behind the condo and may be an ideal park for children to cycle around.
6. Full Condo facilities, you should have see the Bowling Alley.
7. Convenient access to town, just a 10 mins if you go by bus to Orchard or 2 stops down to Dobty Ghaut.

I would strongly recommend for families and young couples.

Excellent Deal

Posted by The Guru on Nov 11, 2008

City Square Residences sits just outside the CBD. It is adjacent to Farrer Park MRT, just 2 MRT stations away from CBD. This kind of prime location is hard to find. It is therefore assessible to both the N-S and E-W lines. The City Square Mall adjacent to it is a 70,000 sq ft retail masterpiece that will have all the big and popular retailers as its anchor tenants (hear that there will be a cineplex there as well). It also has an urban park immediately behind it. A significant number of stacks (the ones in the middle facing the pool) in City Square Residences were marketed overseas, testimony that it has the appeal for both capital and rental investment.
